AGENDA

Start your morning off right with Safety! Join the Short Line Safety Institute (SLSI) on April 23rd for an in-depth discussion about the potential results of poor safety culture, a review of the Short Line Safety Institute and our progress, and a live survey using text in technology to align your skills with the ten core elements. The general session will delve into a facilitated hypothetical activity of a real-life scenario and put participants into the driver’s seat of a Safety Culture Assessor. This session will engage each table in the room with one of the ten core elements and the new concept of the SLSI building blocks for a strong safety culture, and is an interactive activity guided by the SLSI facilitators. The SLSI team will review the results at the end of the scenario and open the stage up for questions and answers.

The afternoon session will continue with facilitated small group discussions on one of the ten core elements of safety culture, open and effective communication. Participants will learn communication tools to further develop their skills in this crucial area through role-playing exercises.  The SLSI will also review a sample closeout report provided to the participants in this session and perform a mock Safety Culture Assessment closeout report session.  A question and answer session will be hosted at the end.
