This session is open to the smallest of ASLRRA’s railroad members and will serve as a forum for them to provide feedback on the Association’s current services, as well as to offer ideas for how these services could be tailored to better meet their needs. Participants in this session will actively engage with our moderators and, in so doing, help to provide direction for our way forward as we strive to better address the concerns of our smallest members. If you are interested in attending this session and are not sure whether your railroad qualifies as a small and independent railroad, please contact Jenny Bourque at jbourque@aslrra.org or (202) 585-3449.

This interactive workshop will give you a great foundation for writing a job description that will be a useful, plain-language tool that describes the tasks, duties, functions and responsibilities of a position. Job descriptions are used for a variety of reasons, such as a tool for recruiting, determining salary levels, conducting performance reviews, clarifying missions, establishing titles and pay grades, and serving as a benchmark and guide in the reasonable accommodation process. Job descriptions are also useful for career planning, training exercises and should meet legal requirements for compliance purposes. In this session, participants will work in small groups to develop and prepare key railroad job description positions.
