ASLRRA puts on a wide variety of educational meetings during the course of the year. From the Annual Convention and the three regional meetings to numerous safety training seminars to Railroad Day on Capitol Hill, meetings are truly the public face of the ASLRRA.
ASLRRA holds an Annual Convention each Spring. This event encompasses an Annual Meeting and Breakout Tracks with an Exhibition. Meeting topics are determined by current trends, changes, or developments in the rail industry with timely presentations by industry leaders, safety experts and government officials. Attendees are railroad officials from the U.S., Canada and Mexico, rail supply representatives and government officials. This Exhibition is the only one dedicated to short line and regional railroads and the meeting attracts over 1,500 attendees.

Railroad Day on Capitol Hill
Early each year, the ASLRRA membership joins forces with the AAR, RSI, NRC, RSSI, REMSA, and other organizations to come to Washington, DC to bring the rail industry's message to Capitol Hill. In recent years, our combined memberships have participated in more than 250 Hill appointments as well as the Annual Legislative Dinner which takes place in conjunction with this event.
Finance & Administration Seminar and Legal Symposium
Returning to the meeting lineup for 2013, is the joint Finance & Administration Seminar and General Counsel Symposium. This meeting will cover timely topics that will put your company in front of the curve when it comes to having the information you need on the most current legal and financial topics.
Safety Training Seminars
ASLRRA conducts Safety Training Seminars throughout the year on an as-required basis. Seminar topics are determined by current issues and new or changed federal regulations. Topics include Employee Safety Training, Engineer Certification, Drug and Alcohol Training, On-Track Safety Awareness, Roadway Worker Protection, Continuous Welded Rail, Hazardous Materials, Equipment Inspection and EPA Mentoring Programs. ASLRRA also works with federal agencies such as the Federal Railroad Administration, Environmental Protection Agency, and Federal Highway Administration to design training that keeps small railroads updated and informed on existing and new or changed regulations. Much of this training is conducted by the regulatory agencies with the assistance of ASLRRA and its members. Click above to view the current listing of Safety Training events.
