ASLRRA 2009: !magine... the education, the exhibits, the networking, the speakers, the people. !magine... the possibilities.
In today's business environment, can't we all use a little imagination? Certainly. Railway Managers and Operators can imagine the valuable learning opportunities related to new technology and regulatory changes that are coming down the line. For four days in late April, ASLRRA's largest trade show floor ever became home to some of the most imaginative and innovative products available in today's small railroad industry. And all of this took place in the city that takes "!magine" to a whole new level... Las Vegas.
After endless hours of preparation, your Planning Committee created a compelling program filled with educational tools designed to equip you for the economic challenges ahead as well as the fast-paced changes facing our industry. New to the educational lineup this year was a Railroad Security Officer Training Class, timed so that class participants could also take part in the Exhibit Hall activities.
Adding to the excitement of ASLRRA's Annual Convention was the setting of The Red Rock Resort, Casino and Spa. Located 12 miles west of Las Vegas in Summerlin, Red Rock served as the ideal location for our event. Attendees were able to enjoy the majestic beauty of Red Rock Canyon, or experience the excitement of Las Vegas' iconic nightlife on the Strip. Whether they were bike riding, laying by the pool, or walking through downtown Las Vegas, railroaders, suppliers, and their guests saw firsthand all of the wonderful activities Red Rock had to offer between meetings and visits to the Exhibit Hall.
