Invitation from TONY RECK, Southern Region VP and Meeting Chair, Paducah & Louisville Railway, Inc.

We are delighted to encourage you to attend and participate in this year's Southern Region Meeting in Naples, Florida. Your Meeting Planning Committee has focused all of its energies on creating a valuable educational experience, full of opportunities to network and learn something new, while remaining mindful of the many commitments vying for your time and attention.

The overarching theme of any ASLRRA meeting is "Connections" - the coming together of rail industry representatives to learn, share, communicate, educate, and grow. In keeping with this theme, this year's Southern Region Meeting will provide a great mix of business and social activities. Our program will kick off on the social side with an opening reception on Sunday evening. Attendees will have additional opportunities to network during our Monday evening reception and during the traditional Tuesday Golf Outing.

On the business end of the program, and new to the educational lineup this year, are two timely training sessions. The first is Best Practices in First Responder Training, which will take place on Sunday, October 12 from 1:00pm to 5:00pm. This seminar will instruct attendees on several successful strategies for planning and executing a productive first responder training course for your local emergency response personnel. The second training session is an FRA 101 Seminar, which will take place concurrently with the General Session agenda on Monday and Tuesday and will address the provisions of 49 CFR, detailing the actual requirements for your operation and exploring what exceptions might be available for small businesses.

As always, this event embraces all of the education, industry news, and social events that you've come to expect from an ASLRRA meeting. So don't miss out on this opportunity to meet with your peers while sharing ideas and networking with others in the industry. Make plans to head to Naples and experience for yourself our strong program agenda - complete with new features and activities - to help you connect. We sincerely look forward to seeing you and welcoming you to this conference.
