EDUCATION

Education will again be a focus of 2012 Connections.  We will be offering two classes on Sunday that will focus on Car Hire/Car Service training, and on Conductor Certification.  Both of these classes will be taught by experts in these areas, and will be valuable education for those who want to get an in-depth education on these topics.  Our RailroadU breakout tracks will be featured on Monday and Tuesday, and new for this year to the lineup will be three sessions related to Fuel Conservation, a topic that is near and dear to everyone's bottom line.  Other RailroadU sessions will feature everything from Wellness Programs to Media Relations, and these sessions offer the perfect opportunity to learn about topics in your area of expertise, or just to learn something new in an area you don't normally work in.

Beginning on Monday at 7:45am, the meeting will break out into RailroadU: seven educational tracks covering over 40 sessions in the areas of Engineering & Maintenance of Way; Finance & Administration; Legal; Legislative & Regulatory; Marketing; Operations & Safety; and Technology. These tracks are designed to provide exceptional education for railroad professionals.  If you are new to the business or are just looking for a refresher, check out the RR101-designated breakouts. These sessions will provide you with basic skills that are fundamental to understanding the rail industry. The seven RailroadU Education Tracks will run concurrently starting Monday and continuing Tuesday morning, offering you and your staff ample educational opportunities.
