Leonardo Alcivar has been named Deputy Director of Public Affairs for the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT). Mr. Alcivar comes to DOT from Linden, Alschuler & Kaplan Inc., a media relations firm headquartered in New York. He began his public service career as Deputy Press Secretary for New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani. In 1996, he served as Director of Press Operations for the New York City Police Department (NYPD). In 1998, Mr. Alcivar moved to the public relations firm Burson-Marsteller.
