One of the key aspects of the passage of the Rail Safety Improvement Act of 2008 (RSIA) was the creation of a timeline that outlines the key dates by which standards referred to must be met. To view the list of known dates pertaining to the entire RSIA, click here. RSIA Dates September 10, 2009 - ASLRRA will solicit Bridge Committee Members for comment on Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM). September 21, 2009 - Comment period will end for NPRM. All comments must be received by this day. October 1, 2009 - ASLRRA will submit aggregated comments to FRA. October 16, 2009 - DOT will promulgate regulations for track owners to adopt a bridge safety management program. As more dates become known, they will be located here. Training Dates As part of our effort to provide you with the most up-to-date, pertinent training, ASLRRA has worked in conjunction with NARS, and various Class I partners to provide short line and regional railroads with bridge training. These sessions will concentrate on the various aspects of maintenance of bridges under the new federal regulations as required by RSIA. To view upcoming training opportunities, click here. |
