Event Security

Minneapolis has recently been in the national headlines, and attendees may have questions about how these events may intersect with ASLRRA’s Annual Conference & Exhibition and travel to Minneapolis in mid-April.

The safety of our members and event attendees is our top priority. ASLRRA staff are working closely with Minneapolis Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Minneapolis Convention Center, and the event hotels to make sure we have a safe, welcoming, and well-coordinated event. At this time, we do not plan to adjust our location or timing. We will continue to monitor the situation, and communicate updates on this webpage.

City officials state that most activity has been highly localized at specific moments and locations and has not impacted the convention district.

Minneapolis continues to successfully host meetings, conventions and large-scale events. The Minneapolis Convention Center (MCC) has welcomed several major events in recent weeks, including the Twin Cities Auto Show, Minnesota School Boards Association meetings, the Minneapolis Boat Show and the Totally Rad Vintage Fest, with multiple downtown hotels serving as key partners in the attendee experience. The MCC, surrounding hotels, restaurants, cultural attractions, and transportation infrastructure remain fully operational, supported by coordinated security, hospitality, and public safety resources.

Based upon assurances provided by the Convention Center, ASLRRA staff feels confident that our event April 12-14 will be well-managed from a safety & security standpoint.

Please review the Event FAQs, including those provided by the City of Minneapolis and the Convention Center. If there are specific questions, please contact meetings@aslrra.org.
