ASLRRA does NOT partner with any “official housing companies”, third-party travel agents, wholesalers, or outside agencies claiming to offer hotel reservations. If you are contacted by anyone claiming to partner with ASLRRA to reserve hotel rooms, DO NOT BOOK WITH THEM and contact us immediately at meetings@aslrra.org.

How a Hotel Poaching Scam Works

Hotel “poachers” are third-party companies that target major conventions and trade shows, contacting attendees or businesses with offers for hotel rooms. These solicitations often use misleading tactics, such as falsely claiming that official hotels are already sold out.

Booking through these unofficial sources can result in hefty cancellation fees, inconvenient lodging far from the event, or even fraudulent charges for rooms that don’t exist. To protect yourself, only use the official hotel booking links provided by the conference.
