Event FAQs

The below questions are provided to assist meeting attendees in understanding the security plans for ASLRRA’s event in Minneapolis, MN April 12-14, 2026. ASLRRA is not responsible for updating links provided by the Minneapolis Convention & Visitors Bureau, the Minneapolis Convention Center, or the Minneapolis Police Department.

Q: What additional, ASLRRA contracted security is provided at the Convention Center and event hotels?

A: ASLRRA has hired additional security to be present 24-7 during the event at the Convention Center, in addition to security provided by the Convention Center.

Q: What happens if access is limited to the Convention Center?

A: The Convention Center has told ASLRRA that there are no plans to limit access via closed streets or other enforcement at this time. Should that occur, there is an intricate system of skywalks in downtown Minneapolis that attendees can use to access hotels and the Convention center without having to go outside.

Q: What resources are available to maintain public safety in downtown Minneapolis?

A: Downtown Minneapolis benefits from a robust public safety and hospitality infrastructure that plays an important role in helping guests feel welcome, supported, and safe: The new Minneapolis Police Department’s First Precinct building opened approximately four months ago and is located adjacent to the MCC and close to convention center hotels. This facility supports citywide public safety coordination. The Downtown Improvement District (DID) Ambassador team provides daily hospitality patrols, cleaning and maintenance services throughout downtown, including the central business district. More on these resources is available here. Downtown hotels maintain security and are in direct communication with local police. The MPD provides additional information on its website.

Q: How is immigration enforcement impacting Minneapolis?

A: The Minneapolis Convention & Visitors Bureau has a robust FAQ page that is regularly updated to provide the specifics. Read more here.
