ASLRRA is excited to share the latest offering for members — the monthly Short Line Carload Index Report. This short line carload data report is created by ASLRRA in cooperation with Railinc based on waybill data submitted by railroads.
ASLRRA has included a category of ‘total carloads handled’ which calculates the total number of individual carloads that were either an origination, termination, or a bridge movement, on at least one U.S. short line. This total will generally be smaller than the sum of originated, bridged and terminated movements as some individual carloads experience more than one of these events.
