Our staff experts are available to answer questions and provide guidance to members via phone and email, as well as in person at a range of industry meetings and events. Advocacy & Image

ASLRRA represents and promotes the industry's interests on Capitol Hill with lawmakers and regulators, working to eliminate unfair taxes and promoting common-sense regulation. ASLRRA's full-time, active lobbying team deals with issues that can help or hurt our industry, such as Positive Train Control and the 45G tax credit, and coordinates grassroots outreach and on-site events with legislators and member organizations. Staff experts serve and represent association members on important industry committees and groups, including: Railway Industry Working Group (RIWG); RSAC, and Class I Caucuses.



Short Line Safety Institute

Working closely with the Short Line Safety Institute, ASLRRA members have access to Safety Culture Materials, and valuable Safety Culture Assessments.



Awards & Recognition

ASLRRA sponsors annual industry awards to recognize the best in our business and honor outstanding accomplishment in a variety of areas. Awards categories include: “Jake” Safety Awards, Safety Professional of the Year, Safety Person of the Year, Business Development Awards, President’s Safety Awards, and Distinguished Service Award.
